Jean Baptiste Robie (1821 - 1910) - Stilleven rozen

Jean Baptiste Robie (1821 - 1910) - Stilleven rozen
Huile sur toile - Signé à la main - 1850-1870

Nice still life of roses displayed on a plinth, some more plants and green leaves in between. Made by Jean Baptiste Robie who made his pieces mainly along the lines of the 17th century still life painters. For the most part, these roses were sometimes mixed with a different type of flowers. His work also regularly featured beautiful vases or other types of ornate objects, in which flowers always played a leading role and the repainted attributes were padding or decoration to give the end result a different twist and finish the composition. Jean Baptiste Robie was a versatile man, he was also an author and traveller..... but painting clearly came first!
This work is professionally canvassed and features a matching frame incorporating the corners. The photos were taken outside..... only the last one was taken inside..... you will it appears a bit darker..... if you make sure that the painting hangs in a well-lit room, you have a beautiful still life on display...... in case that a little darker is not a problem in your house?
Then a spotlight would offer a solution. But that is entirely up to you.
