A precious and ancient 12-seater pure linen tablecloth.
A fine 12-seater tablecloth with 12 napkins in a beautiful and refined light salmon shade. It features a perfect hand embroidery of extremely high level on pure twisted linen voile of the highest quality. It is a very fine, full-bodied and resistant fabric.
It is richly embroidered with satin stitch and very thick shadow stitch, with 3 stitches per millimetre.
This artefact was not made to be marketed, it is an exclusive piece, privately made in a nuns institute for a bridal trousseau, in the 1950s. In those years all noble and wealthy families used to commission bridal trousseaux to monasteries, where the art of embroidery was excellent.
For this reason it is an ancient, unique and precious artefact that cannot be compared with today's commercial products.
It is as good as new, never used, never washed, clean and without stains or significant halos.
It is quite large, measuring approx. 260x160 cm.
