As a wine region, St. Emilion has been appealing to the wine-drinking nation for years. Not only because of the elegant style of the wines, but also the medieval town of St. Emilion is worth a visit. Located on top of a hill, the view over the region is fantastic. Tens of meters deep cellars have been dug into the limestone soil in the hill.
In addition to cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc, merlot is also the most important grape variety here. The merlot grape gives round wine and friendly elegance to the wine while the cabernet sauvignon gives the wine length and strength.
