Exquisitely carved box in the shape of a daybed. On the top is a lid with a metal loop for opening it. The back and side walls are carved in sublime relief with floral motifs. It may possibly have been originally painted a gold colour. Likewise the front section; carved on the left and on the right are mythological fish. Looking out from beneath the beading in the centre are two fish heads.
Fitted to the base on the right-hand side is a drawer.
