Rare kneeling figure (large statue). Beautiful and unique statue. Sold to me as 16th - 17th century American Southwest sculpture with Spanish influences including use of the Estofado technique in gilding and painting of the statue. Picture from Santos museum showing similar statues and techniques.
Wear and damage commensurate with great age including loss to gilding and paints throughout the statue. Various age cracks and lifting of paint in various places including the neck presumably due to humidity. Right foot underwent a repair in ancient times. It is stable but a bit loose. Cracks on bottom abound. Age crack on base.
As the statue is larger, great Taiwan Post fees will be charged.
Buyer responsible for all fees.
