an impressive and large CHAMBA sculpture, positioned on a purpose made iron stand. Height with stand approx. 68cm.
The sculpture is made from hardwood with partially crusty blackish surface and is assumed to have once been made for actual use in ritual context.
From the former collection of a German medical doctor who collected the sculpture in situ in the mid-20th century.
A sculpture of quite similar style is part of the collection of the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, US. (see last image)
