The black earplugs with the bulb nails ,are exceptionally large in diameter and also very thick.
They belonged without a doubt to a special person, perhaps to a notable of the Zulu tribe, who was highly regarded.
It is not a pair. One weighs very heavily, while the other is made out of a light type of wood.
This is the first type of earplugs made by the men who worked in the mines.
The dimensions of this pair are 71 x 16 mm.
The other two are earplugs made from perspex, double-sided on a fond of wood.
With one of them there is a black fabric around the wood, I suspect it is some kind of thin rubber.
This is not an original pair.
At the largest of the two are missing two bulb nails.
Dimensions from large to small: 55 x 15 mm and 47 x 19 mm
