Typical Piedmontese Baroque frame, built between the late 17th/early 18th century, rich in flower and fruit carvings (including pomegranate, a pod, a pear and an apple). The outer part is lacquered and still bears obvious signs of gilding.
In fair condition, damaged by previous woodworm, especially to the second edge of the frame that must be made of a softer wood, with some insect exit holes outside.
Reinforced inside by the restorer, who also gave it a conservative treatment with liquid adhesive.
Part of the wooden pistil of one of the 2 central flowers is missing on the front.
Mounted on a more recent support to keep the structure intact.
Outer size 87 x 73 cm, inner size 64.5 x 52 cm, 11 cm deep.
Express shipping, additional costs may be required for non-EU countries.
I can also supply the 19th century glass as I purchased it as a mirror a few years ago.
