Paloma al aire. Ricardo Cases. Photovision 2011

Metallic spiral binding
A postcard of the exhibition at the Espace J. Brockmann is included.
Considered one of the best photobooks of 2011 by Alec Soth, Martin Parr, Horacio Fernández, and Shane Levalette.
Ricardo Cases' third book deals with a topic that is far from the current affairs: the sports pigeon keeping in the East of Spain, a game consisting in releasing a pigeon and several tens of cock pigeons flying after it and competing for its favours. Although none of them usually get too intimate, the one who manages to spend more time near the female wins. The winner is not the most athletic, the most resistant or the purest-breed cock pigeon. The winner is the most romancer, the most persevering, the one that has the greatest reproductive instinct: the most manly.
