Ca. 1900, Bohemia.
Beautiful antique pair of royal dux Bohemia vases.
Both marked with a pink triangle and numbered.
The company Royal Dux was founded in 1860 by Eduard Eichler in Duchov in Bohemia. Around 1900, the company produced this type of decorative goods in matte biscuit porcelain and in Art Nouveau style. It's a bit about the then rather expensive Art Nouveau for the middle class,
The company received the Grand Prix award at the World's Fair in St. Louis in 1904. The company had problems continuing production during WWI. They couldn't maintain the pre-war quality. Another blow to the company was the Great Depression.
After World War II, German workers had to leave Czechoslovakia. In 1992 the name of the Duchcov factory was changed to Porcelánová Manufaktura Royal Dux Bohemia AS. Since 1997 it has been part of the "Český Porcelán" group.
In good condition, with minimal traces of wear (no cracks or chips (see photos).
Hard to find model so don't miss them!
