Authentic Imperial Japanese navy officer dirk, poniard: "Naval Kaigun Tanken", M.1883. Hand-forged blade (hira-zukuri form with bohi engravings, mumei) has minor fine scratches and stains. The tsuka is covered with polished white rayskin and the saya with finely polished brown ryeskin. The brass fittings of the koshirae are all original, no rust (a few small dents), beautiful patina. Adorned with delicate cherry blossom pattern and the pommel cap shows a single "five leaves" cherry blossom, the closure is still functioning perfectly. "Nagasa": 21 cm, "motogasane": 5 mm," motohaba " : 1.7 cm, length in koshirae: 40.5 cm. For the Japanese naval officer, the poniard was a symbol of pride and honour.
