Ellsworth KELLY (1923-2015), was one of the most important American artists of the twentieth century.
His artistic education took place first in Brooklyn and Boston, then in 1948 he moved to Paris to attend the Ecole National Supérieur des Beaux-Arts. In 1949 he abandoned figurative art to join the Hard-Edge current. In 1954 he returned to the United States where he was very successful. His works can be found at MoMA in NY and museums in San Francisco, Chicago, Baltimore, Washington. Numerous awards including: National Medal of Arts; Premium Imperiale; James Smithson Medal.
Here is a beautiful volume that Maeght publishes in the Derrière Le Miroir series, no.148, on the occasion of an important exhibition by Kelly in Paris in 1964.
The volume, in the usual 38x28 cm format with heavy paper of 170 gr, has 20 pages (including the cover) and contains 3 original double-page colour lithographs (one is the cover), 1 original b/w lithograph on double-page, and 11 typographic reproductions of his works. The book is in excellent condition (very small fold on the last page, at the bottom); insured shipping via Poste Italiane.
