Company information:
Goldscheider´sche Porzellanmanufaktur und Majolkafabrik 1885 - 1953. The company was founded by Friedrich Goldscheider. (1845 - 1897) Factories in Pilsen, Karlovy Vary and Vienna. 1891: Patented process for the bronzing of various materials, especially ceramics. Terracotta is preferred, and from 1892 bronze as well as tin and zinc. 1892: Establishment of a French branch and bronze ware factory. Numerous group exhibitions including: 1885: World Fair in Antwerp 1887: Leipzig Fair 1888: World Fair in Barcelona From 1897, Goldscheider, Wwe., the son Walter Goldscheider and his brother Alois Goldscheider continue to run the company. From 1894, sample stock was maintained in Leipzig and Berlin, and a few years later in Paris, Vienna and Florence. From 1899 the name reads: Kunstgewerbliches Etablissement Kunst- Terrakotta-Fabrik Friedrich Goldscheider 1900: Participation in the Paris World Exhibition and 1902 at the 1st International Exhibition of Modern Decorative Art in Turin. From 1900/05, many figurative reproductions were made in stone cast (art marble). 1907: In the Erste Wiener Terrakottafabrik and Atelier für künstlerische Fayencen Friedrich Goldscheider 1910 employ about 200 people. 1920: Walter and Marcel Goldscheider become owners. 1921: Wiener Manufaktur Friedrich Goldscheider 1925: Participation in the Paris Arts and Crafts Exhibition. 1926: Marcell Goldscheider leaves the company and founds his own company in Vienna. More... 1938: Emigration of the Goldscheider family. The company will be continued by Dr. S. Schwarz on an interim basis. 1939: Josef Schuster, originally from Dinkelsbühl, is the owner and works manager. Figures, busts, vases, lamps, chocolate boxes, reliefs, etc. Made of faience, terracotta, marble, bronze, porcelain and earthenware. After the Second World War, the company is again run by the Goldscheider family. Economic success is not achieved and in 1953 the company has to be dissolved. Walter Goldscheider concludes a licensing agreement with Christian Carstens to cover his liabilities. Carstens receives a number of Goldscheider models and is allowed to continue using the Goldscheider brand. In the same year, Carstens founded the Kunstkeramische Manufaktur Friedrich Goldscheider GmbH in Lower Saxony. Fredelsloh. Manufactured are: Dance figures, nude figures, animal figures, wall masks The ceramics produced here are equipped with the old Goldscheider brand and additionally three stars.
